Travel basketball tryouts are open to competitive players, 5th through 8th grades. CYA teams have participated in the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL) for more than 30 years. Teams in this league are exported to a more competitive level play relative to CYA House Program. 

Participation in the travel program requires extra commitment and dedication. Teams practice twice a week for 90 minutes and play a 12-14 game regular season schedule on weeknights and weekends at gyms throughout Fairfax and Prince William Counties. Most teams will play in a post season tournament in March.

Tryouts will be held at the beginning of October. Prospective players must attend at least two tryouts to be considered and must register before attending any tryout session - there is no cost to register.  Teams will be selected immediately after the final tryout date for your league, and pre-season practices will begin in late October.

CYA travel is part of the Fairfax County Youth Basketball League (FCYBL), which is a non-profit organization.  Travel season begins late-November and concludes in early March.
